This project was a team effort by me (Gonçalo Torrinha) and Jordan Brady with the purpose of creating a real-time environment in Unreal Engine 4 that can be used as the tutorial map in a single-player game to teach the shooting mechanics, acquire weapons/equipment and to understand the premise of the story.
The scene takes place during the World War 2 (WWII) in the Normandy region right after the D-Day and specifically in a camp setup by the American forces. We tried to convey an unnerving sense of calm and peace provided by the beautiful nature of the region contrasted with the sight of the instruments of war, loss of lives and looming threats in the horizon.
Everything was created by me and Jordan Brady with the exception of the music, grass (Unreal Kite Project) and character hands (Unreal).
